No. Clearly you are a millennial that has never had a civics class, nor taken the time to educate yourself.

Don't give me that nonsense. If you want to make a living you will drive tired on EOBR from time to time in order to keep from losing a day. On paper you could take an hour or two nap, make revisions, no harm, no foul. With EOBR you'll end up making that delivery a day late if you take that nap. This is a common scenario that drivers on EOBR face every day. Everyone does at some point. Yourself included.

I want to see how some of you heroes are compensated for a 3 hour traffic delay that pushes your delivery out a full day. Drivers get compensated for that? Remember, we're in the owner operator and fleet owner section of the forum here. How many o/o get compensated when they lose time like that? And lets say you lose 5 hours at a shipper and get detention for it but your new delivery gets pushed out a day. Who gets compensated for that? Detention,is a joke in most segments. In no way shape or form does it ever compensate the lost revenue. It's peanuts that customers don't mind paying because they know you're all cheap. The few times I have seen detention that was actually punitive to a shipper/receiver that's the few times they had their #### together and did their job.

You’re on paper logs and get held up in traffic, you’re dead tired and don’t have time for a nap.
Are you gonna drive tired or stop for a nap and deliver the next day?

So you think you're smart and you trapped me? Sorry driver but common sense on paper logs still prevails. In that scenario I would take a nap and talk with the broker asap "hey bro, not gonna happen gonna be a couple of hours late.,.". "No biggie driver I'll talk with the customer, do the best you can, thanks for the heads up"....

With EOBR it goes like this "Sorry bro but I need to take a break with your load. I can take an 8 hour split break and pick up a few hours but we're looking at 8 hours behind schedule...." and then it goes "well they close at 3 so we will just reschedule for the next morning" .....

That is the reality of EOBR and no-one ever gets compensated for the lost time in that scenario. Happens every day to drivers everywhere too. I'm certain it's happened to some of you who always have the reply "plan your trip better" or "adapt unless you want to add drinks and a fry to my burgers". Hahaha... Company drivers and employees with no skin in the game... EOBR sucks and they will never improve regulations, it will only get more convoluted and open to interpretation.....so they can still find ways to write logging tickets. Sorta like it already is right now...

Look at how stupid the PC provision is and the clear as mud revisions. I never used PC in my life on paper, never needed it and didn't even know what it was. Now I use it every week sometimes 2 or 3 times a week and I'm really looking forward to (NOT) some jack ### having an issue with me deadheading 500 or 600 or 900 miles home or whatever. In the old days I took great pains making sure the fuel matched when I did that. Now I find it ironic how I can be completely out of driving hours, PC home 700 miles nonstop if I feel up to it, and fuel on duty line 4 if I need to during my PC home. And that PC time counts towards my 10 and/or 34. Awesome. I never had that kind of flex on paper. How stupid is that? But it's perfectly legal since im not under a dispatch. I never am when I do it. This actually suits my business model very well but many other parts of the regs #### with my money.

I don't love it either but really thought it would be worse. I run about as much as I did before. The major difference is that I need to leave home earlier and sometimes come back 8-10 hours later than before, especially for weekends when loaded with the deliveries scheduled for Monday. So far, I can always find parking, although I often pay for it and don't have issues meeting appointments. I can imagine in the reefer work, it made life more difficult. I thought the reefer rates would reflect that better?
At least with the latest provisions or muddy revisions now you can leave places like Kraft Foods in Granite City, IL or Kroger in Tolleson, AZ and find a spot to park. The real test is going to be about doing extended PC while out of "daily" hours of 11 or 14 (not so much 70) even if empty and relieved from any obligations. Knowing some DOT cops attitude, I don't think it is always going to fly. .....

    I mean this:
A situation when I go 7 hours to deliver then wait another 5 to be empty...now let's say I am 6 hours from home. Then what? I switch to PC and that allows me to go back home...(over 11 and 14) ? I don't think they're going to like it.

They're just jealous man. They have a computer telling them what to do and at least once a week something epa related throws a cog in the wheel. They're most likely doing a forced regen when they make comments like that LOL
