Swift - New Pay Scale complete details

Flatbed or dry van

 

Dry van is around .42-.43 plus performance bonus no lates equals .05cpm bonus

 

I'm looking to run dry van. The numbers dptrucker gave (.39 per mile @ 4 years West Coast) seem right. I called a recruiter today and they told me East Coast starting pay @ 4 years experience starts at .40 per mile with the worthless "up to" number being .55 per mile (as if I'm going to be impressed by how much runs under 100 miles pay per mile).

I'm probably going to go ahead and apply in about 10 days when my current job is over. They're always looking for drivers out of Ocala, FL so I'm reasonably confident I'll get hired.

My worry now is whether they'll count all of my experience or not. It's all been OTR with large carriers, but they might try rounding each one down individually or something (ie, 1.9 years with JBHunt = 1 year, 1.5 years with Heyl = 1 year, instead of 3.4 years between the two). I'm also guessing they will pull something along the lines of not telling me what my experience will count as until I've actually completed orientation.

I know I sound pessimistic, but I'm only pessimistic with the recruiters and on-boarding process. I'm optimistic about working for Swift once I actually start. I wouldn't be looking into them if I wasn't.

I'll update once I've started in case anyone else is wondering how the onboarding process goes.
