Bulldog is right. I formerly argued that being the vehicle is commercial and on public roads they can search the truck just like a Health Inspector in a restaurant. The cops can search those parts of the truck related to enforcing regulations, but in most circumstances they need driver, company permission or a search warrant. That's what cops are trained and believe. That's what the lawyers contributing to the past trucking magazine articles I read believe, and it's what the laws say. Your company may consent to a cop searching "your" truck if you are "just" a company driver.
Do you have any weapons ?

The real reason im asking the ?'s is as im becoming an old man and I see how America is changing ... Over the decades we have been going from free country to more and more government more and more laws rules regulations more and more government agencies. With this Parkland Florida high school shooting and the school police officer just hiding outside and waiting for the threat to subside ... See , American citizens dont need guns only the government should have guns. Then there is that post on here about Kevin Rutherford and he answered the ? About his gun ... that did not sound like it went well ...

The courts have ruled repeatedly that the police have no duty to respond, so it is naive for anyone to place their security solely on the hope of a swift arrival by the police. It is also quite contradictory to in one breath claim the police are killing people indiscriminately and in the next declare that the police are the only ones that should be trusted with guns. It's also quite hypocritical of a lot of the "big names" behind the gun control movement to hire their own armed security staff while claiming they don't see any need for the common person to have a gun.
As for KR, guns & drugs have never been a good mix. Illegal drug use automatically DQ's you from purchasing a gun (question e on the 4473). He likely wouldn't have been any trouble had it JUST been the firearm, but in conjunction with the drugs it was a big deal. -
