Thanks for getting back to me Redcoat. Neither one of those guys are my husband's DM. I'm workin on getting my 50 posts so I can PM. How long did it take Redcoat to get his 35 segments. My husband has been gone 6 weeks and still only has about 24. He also has a female trainer. Are there many of those at Covenant?

No you got a sore throat from being a moron sleeping in a 1 degree cab with no heatLast edited by a moderator: Feb 9, 2009

Took some time checking trailers, walking on icy ground, my feet and my hands got so frozen, my gallochas (don't know how to spell) and my gloves were not enough. Then had to walk back and forth to the office in that windy, freezing weather... Anyway, I am fine now.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 9, 2009

What difference would there be walking around in freezing weather from sitting in an unheated freezing cab . -
I don't seat in a freezing cab. I have been busy, constantly running and only stop to sleep and cook. I idle when I cook and whenever I need. But don't need to idle when I sleep. First I don't like the noise and the trepidation of the trk when it's idling and second my sleeping bags are enough to keep me warm when I sleep. Have been doing ok healthwise since beginning of winter. The night when I got the cold, I was very tired, after driving for 10 hrs, was hungry, and had to stand on ice and walk on piles of snow, in windy below freezing temp, icy rain... took some time checking trailers, hooking, unhooking, sliding tendom,.... all that was enough to make me sick for a couple of days. I've been idling now to keep trk from freezing up like it happened and send QC msg to dispatcher saying why I am idling. He always thanks me for that. Hope I have clarified your questions now.

Ladies and Gentlemen, where did your manners get left?? Being rude and insulting to each other in these forums is highly frowned upon.
Lilbit, Rocks and doubledragon5 Thank this. -
Maybe the both of you should read this.
You do not catch a cold from being cold, you catch it from someone or something (door knob, BOL, money) that has the virus.Rocks Thanks this. -
No kidding ... but thanks for the re-visit to grade school health class...But that sore throat he was talking about probably came from sucking in cold air while sleeping in an unheated cab. -
Personally, I prefer sleeping with the engine off...even in freezing weather. That's why I have a sleeping bag for a comforter. I rarely get a cold. Even as a heavy smoker.
But I'm not turning it off below 15 degrees, Period. That causes to many issues with the truck...and the load. Nothing like having multiple service failures on your DAC...because of the company "no-idle" policy.
Which means I'll never work for a company as sleazy as Covenant.
Even Swift has their drivers idle trucks during extreme cold. Not for driver comfort.Rocks Thanks this.
