They are getting up there in price, not much demand either I would suppose for OTR work. I have seen them hitting that $200,000 range for an O/O spec truck. I would imagine they would continue them for say heavy haul, as that is what they built in Chillicothe OH, W900 heavy duty, multi axle units. They always seemed to be pumping those out. And with the economy exploding, I can't really see them totally discontinuing the line. Going to be quite a bit of heavy haul freight here in the future, that is not going away.

That's crazy to hear Paccar has thinned out their frames in that year 379. My 94 w900 (around 20k empty weight) is currently parked next to a Crapcadia and the frame rail thicknesses aren't even in the same league. Mine looks to be at least 50 percent thicker gauge steel. Not sure what year this Freightshaker is but I would guess mid to late 2000ish.

Only 2 much work if you have drivers other than yourself beating the piss out of them. Other than that, if you have a solid truck and you have pride in your ride and only driver taking care of it, it’s less work, easy to maintain and cheap on the wallet. Vs newer trucks where you will be spending thousands at the dealer becuase of electrical and computer problems. Lots of down time and lost money. If you have a fleet of trucks, an older truck won’t work for you becuase of bone head drivers. As an owner operator, the ticket is pre 2006.

    A 389 doesn't look anything like a 379.

It's alright.....it only looks halfway decent if it's clean. I don't much get the grill design

Go spend some time with a 379, then go look at a 389. They are not even close to being the same truck.

    I’ve owned both.
A 1987 379 shorthood with red prestige interior looks nothing like a 2007 379 EXHD with grey american class interior?!?!?!
