Yes you can gross 8-10k a week. Fixed costs on a truck about 1300 a week. Fuel and other variables probably push total weekly operating costs to the mid 3k area. Subtract taxes, divide by two and that's all you. Key points to consider: 1) 8-10k is probably the high water mark and not to be relied upon as a weekly average. 2). National rates have had a historic performance over the first half of the year and there is no way to predict how long this will last. 3). Drivers with sufficient self discipline and truly accurate sense of self assessment to maintain peak performance as compared to their peers are rare and rewarded at most companies of Prime's size. 4). Point 3 addresses the claim that "if it were true everyone would do it". Simple fact is that not many are willing to do it. It's not easy. It's the same as school, the majority of underperformers prioritize other areas of life over academic accomplishments, which is understandable because it can be truly rewarding. On the same note, the more you move to the right of the bell curve the smaller the population.

As always someone sets the topic, and people start talk to eachother move away from the point.
As far as i know Prime does like this.
Best loads high paying ones go to Trainer And Trainee trucks, Next are Lease teams, than lease drivers, than company drivers. But there is a lot of BS, they play with loads, not allowing you make more than certain ammount of money per week.So good expensive loads they give to company drivers and they pull it for crap 41 cents per mile, or they give it to solo lease former student who has 1 year locked contract with Prime, to pull it for 1,25 cents per mile, or they can give it to you as normal for 3 dollars per mile because you leasing and paying Primes truck off.Prime has many contracts and lots of cargo in Primes hands - this where money at, who has loads has money.
Prime is a big SCAM, nobody knows exactly what they are doing in their internal computer systems, but they ripping off drivers big time ( selling from shipper to broker,to another broker and whatever left you see on your settlement before accepting the load) and everyone says you not doing something right if your income is 100$ per week while delivering 4 loads per week.
Every load pays money, this is US, capitalism here, but all is screwd up and somehow you haul for free, it means money going somewhere else, and they dont pay the driver.
Teams - dont do it. Is the worst sh..t ever, you will not be able to sleep at all in bouncing truck, you will need to deal with other persons habits in small tiny space, wear and tear on the truck incredible and in return you will have almost the same money as solo may be few hundred more, for me it is not worth it.
Truckng full of BS, so many lies and rip offs. Is very not easy find good company that will pay you decent money because they respect the driver.

    It's true.
Doesn't make a difference what we say,
Your gonna believe what they tell you and
    Lease a truck anyways.

Scroll this forum. It was overrun with prime/lease/success
    Stories.
So much so that it clogged up the website and
The moderators had to take them all down.
That's why theres none on here right now.

I drive company team at Prime, and have for a few years. My trainer was a lease operator and he did get settlements in the 8-10k range when we were in tnt. That's on the high end, but it is achievable (before expenses).

If you are interested in teaming, you might consider company. I run a dedicated account, we run around 4300 miles a week with a day or two off at the house every week, and we both gross over $1500 a week, easy. 4300 miles is really soft for a team, when we ran OTR we ran more miles. If you run 6,000 miles a week as a company team at Prime you will gross over $4,000 a week to the truck. That's not difficult, especially when you are turning coast-to-coast runs.

There's a lease team that runs the same dedicated account as us (just different days), and he wants to retire doing this run. He has been trucking a lot longer than I have, and he's happy with what he is making leasing. I'm happy with what I'm making as company, and once you add my benefits and paid vacation and 401k match, we are probably in the same ballpark.

Team running does not appear sustainable for long term, you can run solo and make about the same as a team would at prime... Look at my numbers, these are about the same as you could expect...
