Yes, It appears that most all drivers are ok with the current hours of service.

My comment was to leave things the way they are now,
So lets see, 4 million truck drivers divided by 758 equals .0001895 of the drivers took the time to comment.
We all like the current HOS

This poll will close on Aug 28, 2028 at 12:22 PM.
- Yes (uh)
- No. (uh)
- I'm too lazy to comment to the FMSCA (definately)
- It won't help. (most likely)
- They'll do what they want anyways. (most assuredly)
- The FMSCA likes drivers (ha ha)
- The new HOS will make Americas highways safer. (Likely)
- With the new HOS the future of trucking is brighter and new drivers won't know the difference (true)
- The drive till you fall asleep at the wheel days are over. (for the most part except for a few renegades)
- Driving is the best job in the world (never was never will be)
- By subscribing to and participating in this thread you will help the FMSCA to make the trucking industry better for drivers. (possible)

The 70 hour rule needs to be changed. A 7/70 or 8/80 would be better. Recapping 5 or 6 hours, shutting down early, then having to switch to driving overnight to make an early morning appointment is counterproductive. A two week cycle, such as a 14/150 followed by a 34 or 36 reset so you could run hard for a couple of weeks then rest would be even better.
The 14 should be extended for OTR drivers, also, by taking breaks for a certain amount of time. Drivers shouldn't be penalized for slow shippers, receivers, lack of parking, and other things beyond their control.mitmaks, T.Rucker and Oldironfan Thank this. -
