No, its Walmart. I've heard the "dollar" horror stories.

    THIS.

One in our county requires you to blindside aim for a side dock across a divided highway and against outbound parking lot traffic who would have a favor and a new car if you hit them. (And want you to mash em)

Never mind the occasional robbery. I don't know why they work so hard to knock down 50 dollars from a register when a million dollars cash is being unloaded and protected by three rifles around a armored truck across town.

I agree 110% with this assessment being an OTR driver. I'm looking to switch though to Dedicated.

the dollar generals around here tend to always need $1s or $5s. It's like the company doesn't give each store enough. They also each always have 1 or 2 workers. I'm not sure what was going though the CEOs mind when they thought opening lets say 10 stores around the same area at once was smart

I've been doing dry van OTR with a mega for 6 months and I wouldn't trade the experience. I have a long way to go of course but at this point I would put my skills up against the few drivers from my orientation who are still around, especially given that most of them take every weekend off and don't travel more than 700 miles from the terminal. I was in Illinois when it was -19 recently and before that I was negotiating heavy lake effect snow in Michigan watching vehicles slide off the road and figuring out alternate routes around pileups and road closures. Before that I was driving on snow in the mountains. As a rookie its all about getting your skills up in my opinion and OTR will give you that opportunity.
