I’m trying to cut through 1068 cases and 21,100lbs today. So far so good for a load this size.

That’s how we are. As long as we get it in by 8 hours we are good. No 4-6 hour rule.
Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
I don't understand why you would take it after 3 hours what if something happens and you have to work 11 hours your gonna have to take another 30 min break
Mike2633 Thanks this. -

My quick rant: I'm driving back to my home terminal, and I get a phone call from dispatch.
"Yeah, you know you have a a 7:30 cutoff on those trailers, right?"
"I have stopped for a 10-minute break, and my DOT-required 30-minute break, so if the loads are late, it's safe to say it wasn't me."Fuelinmyveins and Mike2633 Thank this. -
Had to work on the dock for the first 45 minutes today then dispatch sent me to do some swaps. While doing pre trip I found leak coming from the diff, left low beam headlight out and whoever drove that truck last night did not refuel. Gotta love it

is this company policy?
Cuz the law of course is 8 hours, unless you are within 100 air miles (115 map miles) you don't have to take one at all. (as long as you return to your home base every day and you don't exceed 12 hours a day).
Why would a city driver even have to take a break?
that's just stupid.
OH right, i know, Trucking is Retarded.speedyk, LtlAnonymous and street beater Thank this.
