Basically the question is when we get our truck , we want to remove the cabinet behind the drivers seat and install a fridge ..
a little bigger one than the usual ones.
How do you power this fridge ? What is recommended to install it ?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions .

Are you a company driver or O/O ? You will need to install a power inverter to power a larger fridge. And somehow mount it or strap it down to keep if from bouncing around the cab in case of an accident etc.

3000 watt inverter could go bigger but that's what we ran a dorm fridge with in our old truck and no problems

I ran a dorm fridge on a 2500 along with a tv, dvd, sound bar and a 700 watt microwave. A regular fridge takes less juice than you think...the startup of the compressor is the biggest power draw. (I had mine strapped to the top bunk...minus the mattress)

I’m in the same process. Have 2 inverters 1000 and 1500 would like to use 1 for fridge and 1 for microwave. Wondering if 1000 will handle very small fridge. Thinking of 1500 for microwave (600) watt and coffee maker etc can use one at time.I know you can’t wire them together to make more power. But would like to run 1 hot and 1 ground under bunk and connect both inverters and maybe a third 600 watt at that one point under bunk. What guage wire to use?

1000 will be fine as long as it's 1.7 cu. Ft. Or smaller and energy star rated. You don't want the inverter working at Max. Capacity at any given time as it lowers it's lifespan. 1500 may be too small for the coffee maker for this reason. 2000 may be a little overkill but a better fit. And in either case never run both the microwave and the coffee maker at the same time. As far as what wire to use. It'll vary a bit with the efficiency of the inverter but IMHO 2 or smaller would always be a good bet. Don't forget to fuse it to reduce risk of fire. And if you only want 1 connection at the battery your gonna need power distribution & ground junction blocks since it's better to have them in parallel than in series.

I did the same with my top bunk. Slid in a folding table over a few 2x4 cut to size. Makes a great counter top.Straped everything up there. Microwave. Toaster. I use a 3 step stepping ladder to access everthing easly and work off the counter top.

But if i was allowed to remove the shelving behind the passenger seat i would and put one those taller friges/freezer there and strap the microwave on top of that. There easly enuf space with seat up. But they would be upset if i start removing #### from there new truck lol. But the fridge/freezer i got is fairly large. 3.5 cu feet i think.
