I've used the crossfire. But it makes it more difficult to pin down a tire leak issue. Or get single tire pressure reading.
And the icy north is hell on valve stems, and whatever else is connected to them.

Just curious, do any of these maintain the pressure by letting it out as well as filling? I mean like driving through the desert with a gross load, tires get hot and the air expands, increasing pressure? That'd be the cats pajamas!

It’s a pain to check them alright. I hear ice can really cause more problems than worth with some auto systems. Changed out 3 valve cores that acted funny last week. Before it gets cold.Sure it only takes 5-10 min. Seems to take me at least half hour. Really hate when check pressure - good but valve core won’t seal up gets stuck. Then it’s an hour long dirty ordeal.Loves is OK but you gotta watch them. Found a problem more than once after using them.Rather check myself

Yeah I am assuming that is how the meritor trailer system works.

I just saw a Casey’s Gas station truck today with some sort of automatic system for the truck. I’ll have to get a closer look next time they are at my local store.

It would just be super nice to never have to worry or wonder. The system keeps it good to go where you want it, and gets you to the truck stop and saves a road call if a problem does flare up.

Between tire wear, road calls, maybe saving a tire by being able to patch vs the it getting ruined by heat, and maybe a quarter fender not being ripped off, seems like a good idea to me.

I agree .A good example last week had a new trailer tire with broken seal. Had only driven 4 miles to pick up Load. Had checked night before. Now loaded w/ flat tire.Everyones closed nearest Truckstop for repair 30 miles away. Can’t run flat might ruin tire . I had to seal it up with ether.Culprit was a loose valve stem (inner tire) Almost ruined a new tire had I not caught it

I have been thinking about putting these on my truck drive axles. I think the price was $75.00 a piece.

Halo Tire Inflator Available For Tractors and Trailers

My trailer has an air system, it really works well. I put new hoses on with an extra valve to check pressure, without disconnecting the hose.

The new Hendricks tire pro plus does. Not sure if the standard tire pro is still available or not

The Halo system is most often found at select Michelin dealers and the cost is currently $360 each. Only take minutes to install. Michelin has an agreement with Halo to distribute them under the name Michelin Auto Inflate System

Good to know. Neither Michelin nor Halo are very upfront about where to purchase this. I think they are only really interested in larger quantity fleet purchases, not individual O/O or even fleets of just a few trucks. I got no reply when I made inquiries to Halo and and starting to get some answers from Michelin on where I may buy them. Funny they want to arrange installation as part of the deal, yet look at their information and they show how it only takes a few minutes per position to install one. Dealer needs that extra money I suppose, then must not make much on selling the product itself.
