I always assumed the van drivers here did lots of drop and hooks. The insurance and plates wouldn't be much. I'm my opinion it's a no brainer to go out and get your own. Used dry Van's are cheap...

When I tried to sell my Great Dane 53' trailer when I came to Mercer to do flatbed I couldn't give it away. Posted it at Mercer on the bulletin board, listed it on mercer's web page. Was only asking $4500 and the best anyone could do was offer me a couple hundred then monthly payments. That's pretty sad in my opinion. Same way I got the Reitnouer flatbed I have now, a guy died and family needed to sell it. Asking $22K and all the local drivers at the place offered the same deal to the family, a couple hundred and then payments for years and years. I don't know if any of you have had experience with something like this but once the trailer (or truck) is gone good luck getting every payment and don't even think about them being on time. I showed up with $16K in $100 bills and bought it once they saw how selling it was going to work. That cold cash staring them in the face sealed the deal, no worries about if I could finance it, or if a check would bounce, cash is King! And four years later now and these guys are still pissed because I "stole" the trailer from them.

With the poor financial management of most O/O it's no wonder the lease purchase deals are so popular; no credit, no down payment, no other way to get "a truck of their own".

I rarely will go to a blue beacon.

I go to the independently owned truck washes, you get a better job and dont have to sit in line with all the mega steering wheel holder companies.

Ya, the "18 wheelers truckwashes" has a couple locations Mount Vernon, ILLINOIS and off I70 in Missouri arent bad. I like that truck wash south of Louisville at the loves I cant think of the name though, they put the shine on your tires and if you've got a concealed carry license you get a discount, my type of place.
