Little did you know it’s just a standard one stick 18 speed. The 2 sticks is air switches. One is for the high and low splitter and the other is the high and low range range selector. It’s just a normal Eaton 18 speed one stick

Looks like a bunch of extra (unneccessary) crap. Why work harder than you need to?

If you knew that was only a regular 18 speed and you have a show truck with same setup, why would you post that guys truck instead of your own 3 sticks with show quality interior?

Rookie here, honest question. Is there any advantage to the old 3 sticks? Are they more reliable than the 18 speed with one stick and 2 splitters built in that stick? Or is it just one of those older things that were harder to do that people take pride in?

Two or more sticks was before air operated transmissions. Shifting them could be a handful, or two.

Guys with the three sticks now just have them to look “cool”.

Has nothing to do with reliability.

Yes I know what it is and what it does, and how it works. That is how mine is set up.

It is not extra work, it just means two more sticks. There is no more work than the regular one stick you use for a 13,15, or 18 speed. The only difference is we move more than our thumb, elbow, and index finger.
