I know a lot of you more experienced drivers, O/O, carriers, and supertruckers this stuff is probably old hat, but today I passed my first solo full level 1. Got a nice sticker on the window as well. The inspector was thorough. Measured everything from brake travel, full air brake test and pulled the triangles out of my case and counted them. Plus a whole review of my elogs. I felt like I was outside the principals office. Told my wife and her response was basically “you don’t get extra credit for stuff you’re supposed to do.” She makes me laugh...especially when I told her if I got stuff wrong I get fined. That changed her tune. Anyway, proud of myself for always paying attention and always checking everything more than necessary. Pretty stoked. Thanks to many of you for always being hardasses and reminding us window licking - steering wheel holding company drivers that this stuff is really important.

I saw a couple She Bears combing over one in Iowa not long ago, and they were VERY thorough.
They measured the height of the ICC bumper at four different intervals from the ground up. Not just one.. FOUR.
I thought that was reaching a bit.otterinthewater, DSK333 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
My last level 1 inspection was at the Banning California scale. The guy was actually very nice. Took about 40 minutes. I had one issue with one of my trailer brakes being very close to being bad. I got a verbal warning to report that to my carrier and get it fixed. I was handed a clean report and laughed all the way to my delivery at Honda. I did report it. However I did a drop and hook so I have no idea what become of that trailer. My last inspection period was in Georgia. Took about 20 minutes. Drove away with a clean inspection and ate my dinner that night at home!
otterinthewater and Lepton1 Thank this.
