Four years. Do the right thing the first time and that’s all you need to do. The MIC has been in charge since the 50’s and never runs out of money. The only uncertainty is if each of us will make in the high five figures or low sixes. The only problem with what we have done is that you can’t replicate it on a larger scale and start a fleet since driver qualifications are so high.

The good shingles are the hot stuff.

My old home was reroofed with 130 mph code shingles that should withstand it combined with essentially overengieered below and a rebuilt ice dam from the last storm three years ago.

Even then we expect to lose a number of them anyway when tornadoes walk the earth. Hurricanes are just the great grand uncles that rarely come around but overstay their welcome when they do.

For some perspective, I run a dry van on the I-5 corridor. I don't work that hard. I like getting home a lot. I work exclusively with brokers, all of which I connected with via the loadboard.

My September numbers vs October numbers (I'm booked through the end of the month already) are definitely lower. In fact, October ALL MILES rate is down 13% from September ALL MILES. I expected it.

    Gravy trains eventually slow down...

That said, it's not like the sky is falling for me personally, LOL. When times are good, enjoy the ride and stack up the cash. or at a minimum, pay forward on your truck operations costs.

Let me get this straight, You are a patriotic Democrat hauling for the military industrial complex, commenting on (I kind of took it as complaining) H2B immigration.

    That's rich.Lol

Analytically, my gross profit was $748 less in October than in September. Of which $538 of that was additional fuel purchased & increased fuel cost at the pump.

Anyone else notice that $0.20 a gallon jump last week? ;-)

I use it also as an argument in rate debates. Sometimes, I use it to try to "shame" a broker on trying to fool me (or insult me). For instance, last week I was on a rejected load, they they wanted me to take it back from Madison, WI area to Richmond, VA. Their original idea was that I would take it for the same amount I brought there, which was $1100 less of what it should be. I told them that the average last 15 days was $2800, which is what they paid after two day consideration. For comparison, the ITS loadboard averages are not as good. I think, it is a must have tool in the loadboard load finding game.

I’m all about supporting the best policies for the wellbeing of the American worker. H2B is a program custom tailored for greedy companies to use foreign labor to undercut wages paid to Americans. That I emphatically do not support.

It’s all good till hard times hit and rates get whittled down and the old Pros at specialty freight take the gloves off.Saw it happen 10 yrs ago with Military Auto Hot shot Expedite and Heavy Haul.Lots of Auto Trailers RGNs Expediters and other so called niche’s. I’m not knocking it at all, but nothing wrong with FAK. It’s kept me afloat and sometimes has beaten Reefer just recently. All depends on the Economy. Very small changes add up to very big changes in Trucking. Good Luck always to You and your wife.
