geez we have driver facing cameras and truck drivers snitching on other truck drivers.. i'm going to hand in my cdl license after i pay off a few bills. congratz mission accomplished. bring on the self driving trucks.

some people take out a loan to buy a truck, start there own business, there own home. i'm going to take out a loan to go back to school for IT dept. if driver facing cameras become mandatory, there will be a job for that. and scotty since we know how you look like ill be looking at you

Don’t go that far hand. Scotty is the minority not the norm.

He not only runs around snitching on people but as previously mentioned he's a lawbreaker too AND he videos people just to shame them. Like one I saw not that long ago where instead of helping guide a newb into a spot he decided to whip out his camera and make snide comments to his audience. Pretty low IMO.

I saw another where he was was intentionally driving in the center lane of a three lane highway at 65mph. The road he was traveling on was 75mph. Eventually trucks began to pass in the hammer lane and of course he had his camera rolling to catch all these nasty speeders and left lane restricted riding "Super Truckers". They picked the lesser of two evils. Passing on the right is more dangerous than passing on the left. So they all chose the left. Thing is, he never ever should have been traveling in the center lane at all considering his plastic POS leased truck couldn't do the posted speed limit. Every state in the country has some sort of slower traffic keep right law.

Do you see how he's not only a hypocrite but he's also skillfully created a situation that wouldn't have been there if he himself was following the laws of the road. It's all good though since he gets his likes, views and monetary rewards from his "audience" and since they're the watchers somehow he's exempt from any moral responsibility concerning the matter.

In my generation we didn't hand out trophies to the losing team.

I was going 70 which is my max governed speed. Plus I told you that Swift University teaches us to run in the path of least resistance, which would be the middle lane so merging traffic can get on easier and fewer conflicts with the big trucks, overall increase safety out on the roads.

    Forgive me while I LMAO

What about all the other trucker/youtubers out there filming and editing, uploading and commenting on their videos? I'm sure they are all doing if Off Duty as well, why pick on me so much when I am the one doing the most to help this industry?

So SWIFT teaches you to break the law. Each state makes the laws of the road....not Swift. The last time I checked, 70 is still slower than 75. You were breaking the law. That makes you a hypocrite. If Swift told you to jump off a bridge would you do that too? It never ceases to amaze me how people blame everyone else for their own actions. Speaking of generations, the one I come from taught us to take responsibility for our own actions and not pass the blame to others. What do I know though? Maybe Swift and your audience is holding a gun to your head as we type.

So in other words, it’s better to point and laugh instead of helping the industry as a whole like you claim to be by showing them how to be better at their jobs?

    Good plan.

    Two questions

    1. If I watch a ScottieD video tomorrow during my 14 for educational purposes, would I have to log it on duty?

    2. @scottied67 would you be willing to say "A Scottie D Joint" at the beginning of your videos, like Spike Lee?

I knew Swift was big, but to be able to make their own laws which override all the state laws. Sweet. I guess I need to go back and work for Swift!

Because they are not the ones here stating it's legal. It's not. Just like the Sleeper Berth provision you rant about, just because everyone does it does not make it legal.

I know (I hope anyway) you are joking, but just so you know...
There is actually guidance on this. If you do it yourself and it's not required by the motor carrier it's off duty. If your company for some strange reason requires you to watch scotties videos, then it would be on duty.
