Something i forgot to mention that changed about a month ago. The Bonuses are no longer quarterly they are monthly. You get a safety bonus if you do all the logs and drive safely 10,000 miles in a month and productivity bonus if you drive 12,000 miles in a month that increases the more miles you drive and the longer you work here.

Funny thing happened yesterday. In PA had to go through the weigh station at one of those rest areas. You know! Drivers come into the rest area and the DOT officer will pick one of us to pull in to inspect. Well it was my lucky day
. The officer looked at trailer for a minute, then came up to my window, looked at the tractor, looked at me and said "you have a brand new trailer and brand new truck" "yes i do sir!" I replied "Get the heck out of here" he said and waived me on by without inspecting anything. "Thank you sir" i said and took off
. I didn't have much to worry about anyway, everything's in order but sure am grateful he didn't want to waste my time to go through it. I thought it was funny. Well there's a benefit of having new equipment!
We don't have all brand new trailers we recently had about 16 new trailers come into the yard and it just so happens i got one. That being said it seems like most of the trailers here at ShipEX are only couple years old.Last edited: Oct 26, 2018

Alrighty, Delivered in Allentown PA. Only about 1hour unload. The reciever lady's were a little rude. Other than that it went pretty smooth. Can't let the little crap bug ya in this business.
Had about 4hrs left afterwards and headed on over to my pickup in Monmouth NJ. Surprisingly it was a drop & hook. Bam! Git'er done! Took off from there now headed back to Salt Lake. In and out of this area don't mine that at all.
Today im already in IA will have to do a 34 here soon then complete this load.polo king 92, drvrtech77, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -

Then I started a new pharagraph in that post updating my status for today. 2 days later. Sorry for the confusion, i assumed drivers know of course you can't run that far in 4 hrs.. i ran a little bit after the NJ pickup, did my 10 hr break, ran out to Indiana, did my 10 hr break and then today while updating i was in Iowa.Last edited: Oct 26, 2018

Typically running off recap has been my thing. For years I ran my own show picking my own loads and running my own mini business as a lease operator. Most of the time it seemed best to take my 34hr reset at home whenever possible. The loads available were usually shorter 1200 miles or less. When I was low on hours I could take an even shorter load such as a 200 mile run to allow my clock to catch up and at least be making money instead of sitting on my rear.
This past week I've run with the intent to run my clock out. Why? Well first of all let me explain my thinking. You can pretty much run how you want here (Shipex) but they want to see at least 10,000 a month 12,000 and above is their company model for being paid salary etc.. Okay I can do that working off recap. However the more miles you can go in a month the better the bonus pay.
Being they run a lot of long loads 1800 - 2200 miles I'm thinking running the clock out is better way to get the miles.
You see before as a lease operator, running less miles to make more money on shorter loads and pay less in maintenance because I was covering the cost of the truck made more sense. But now it's a different ball game.
There has been few occasions here while managing my clock and trying to run off recap with hours to run they will give me a 34hr reset anyway. Probably because (Just guessing) the loads available couldn't be done in the hours I had etc..who knows. Still making monthly quota but want to do better. Anyway it seemed to be wasting time instead of utilizing my time. Will see how it goes. So far I'm cool with it! Doing my 34hr reset now in Nebraska.
Bit of a brain twisting post.. lol
Bottom line is, run off recap or run your clock out?
