I worked for a company like yours that had a long length of haul, averaging 1500 miles per trip. I always thought running hard and burning the 70 in 6 days and resetting was the way to go.

Yeah I'm thinking so. There is a enormous amount of companies and different types of trucking jobs out here one could do. But as far as just running with a good carrier they are doing a pretty dam good job in my opinion.

    Upinsmoke and smokey12 Thank this.

Yeah it was little tough for me to wrap my head around it at first. Probably because so use to running differently. Gradually waking up to it. Adapt and change

A buddy of mine is one of your fellow Shipex drivers. I keep trying to get him to come to the company I'm at now because he would make considerably more money. His wife lives on the truck with him and they really enjoy the length of haul and generous health care benefits at Shipex, so much so that he prefers to stay put than to make more $$$.

Yeah I'm kind of the same way. There is probably places I could make more money. But then there would be something that won't workout well for me. This just fits right on me.

Funny I met a driver who's wife was living on the truck with him when I first started. Wonder if it's the same couple. I think they were in a older 2015 or 2016 blue freightliner.

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

I just got a message yesterday from Ali.
The offer sounded good, but declined because I am local, home every night and off weekends.

    Upinsmoke and Trucker61016 Thank this.

It's funny you say that. My dispatcher said to me yesterday they have a shortage on their local drivers because 3 of them decided to go OTR .. It's all about whatever works for you right!

    Upinsmoke and Snowshoes Thank this.

That's true. I did entertain the idea but I have it pretty good now.
