I’ve actually still got it - but I’m on the road now.

I think the brand was PanaPacific or something. Really good unit - lasted us 7 years no problem.

It had that rectangular block 8 pin or 10 pin female plug in the back, slid right in, pull tools to remove.

ODFL had a no go policy on hacking wiring looms, so that was our best option.

The older tractors didn’t even have speakers . . .

Exactly this one here. Had good volume, weather channel was a lifesaver (literally) and never skipped a beat.

Pulled it from one truck to another over the years easily. I think it was just the carriage (cage), that you’d have to slot into the radio space , bend tabs and away you went.

Are you talking about the stereo harness plug behind the dash?

I think the last year tractor we ran was a 2014? If that helps.

The male block plug fitted right in the back of the radio - if that’s what you mean.

I think the guy was asking about running a cb radio with a cigarette lighter plug, and I thought you had a magic cable that plugged in somewhere providing a power supply and coaxial connection as well as external speaker connection for a slipseat box. He said he couldn't modify the truck. I think he's looking for a quick plug in solution without removing screws from the truck.

    Nah - he replies a few posts down - “AM/FM radio” . . .

Honestly - we worked there 7 years, their policy sucks - tiny sleeper cabs, no radios, lucky to have speakers.

After a few years the speakers came standard - and wiring harness for OEM radio ( never supplied).

They even limited inverters, and had to be shop installed.

But - if he’s slip seating, then ham box is the way to go,

Im assigned to a 2015 volvo with no radio and no speakers, what im really looking for is to have a AM/FM radio box with its own speaker a medium box built so its not bulky.

    Gotcha.

Either buy a pre made setup, or out to the tool shed you go. :)
