Did anyone else hear the guy on KC's show talking about his lease purchase he just got into basically with no plan. His first 4 settlements were NET! $540, $400, $50, $500! So one week his check was only $50. The rest were 1/2 what a company driver would earn and have benefits, retirement plan, vacation, and when you turn the key off forget about it. I'm just curious what the frick is so important to some people to have their name on the side of a truck that they are willing to work for 1/2 price.

One guy argued that - at 60 odd years old, he didn’t want to buy a truck/trailer etc and get too invested or involved.

Close to retirement, 3rd career - I could see , somewhat, his point. I’m more of a ‘go hard or go home ‘ guy , but he had 20 years of ‘tired’ on me.

Either way - it should be a short term vehicle.

I have a friend who started at an infamous carrier whose name I won't mention, but has many nicknames, including Stevie Wonder.. Anyway, he was told when he started "we don't have any company trucks. If you want start today, here's an LP truck."
