You fellows are in a much classier league than me. The 1100 shadow is a good reliable scooter but that's all. Plus, I don't care to shine stuff.

I remember seeing one of those in an old truck in a junk yard not far from where I live. It was in bad shape and in an old needle nose pete they were gonna scrap.

Is that what they called a super 250 @DougA ?

Went to the spring shop today. Had a talk with Donnie the manager. Real cool didn't get mad or angry. Just showed him what I found and how I wanted it fixed so I could go to work. Said he get them right on it. Now keep in mind I wanted just one thing done and I would come back at a later date for them to fix the rest of it. Donnie called an hour later and said we are done. Walked out to my truck and opened the hood to verify that they fixed it........blood pressure rose and my attitude changed !! They took a big hammer and drove the threaded plugs in !! Plus I noticed paint marks on my left drive tires and paint marks on my full fenders where they side swiped something !! No damage but close !.....you ever see a man turn white and actually breakout in a cold sweat ? I did , two of them. After some talk that made them belive in a god I calmed down. Before I left I got in writing that they are installing new spindles and what ever else needs replaced. With the proper supervision !

Had a friend from a local MC talk to me about rolling to Lake Tahoe. I told him that he may as well stay in Reno. He didn’t know that Reno was so close. I asked him how many days were they planning to ride, he said 10 days. From the east coast...not happening. You need two full weeks and a strong crew

    “Strong crew, Six?”

You know how you see people posting about driving and they mention how the drive 300 miles to grandma’s house and enjoyed it? They think a 300 mile drive qualifies them as a trucker. That’s like saying getting a Mohawk in the 3rd grade makes you Chuck Liddell. We can 300 miles on life support.

Likewise, your guys have to put down 500-600 miles a day. Every day. Rain or shine. You’re not going to just buy a bike, hop on, and roll cross country.

“Well, we want you to come with us, Six...”

(I am wondering myself, especially after falling ill from this past summer, if I am still strong enough. I hit the bike like I did the truck, covered back to back to back 800 mile days, and ended up with liver and kidney issues)

Well, we went on a 800 mile ride. 400-400. The 2nd day, they couldn’t get out of bed before 11am. That won’t work. Start early end early. Every day. It’s like ‘BarRescue’ for the motorcycle set. Put em on a long trip and instantly separate the healthy from the sick.

One of the things they’re talking about doing is trailering out to Reno, which would take 2 days instead of 4. But that would allow them to hit places like Mt St Helens, the redwood forest, Death Valley, and the Pacific Coast Hwy.

    But so far, just talk.
