We have another couple here tonight. Girlfriend has her kid with her and what appears to be her mother(?) The boy she’s dating hasn’t looked up from his phone, once, besides to look over the menu...

Yup, that’s the one you wanna take home and show your kid?

I can't have milk or ice cream. It just doesn't sit well with me. I haven't had a glass of milk since I was a little kid.

I have tried endlessly to be open-minded and optimistic about driving these “new technologies” down the road... Really, I have tried to understand that there will be bugs, issues, software glitches....

Don’t know if you were on here when I drove for Melton but I went from one of their old 660s / 10-speed to a brand new Cascadia with the DD15/DT12 combo. That motor and transmission in that truck were for the most part... solid. Melton limited the transmission to the economy mode and limited the “manual mode” to basically downshifting only... other than that. The DT12 was for the most part....decent? I could back it up without trouble. It didn’t rock the truck unnecessarily. It was... somewhat joyful to drive? The downfalls was the lane departure and the Bendix system. Nevermind the in-can Drivecam.

So... I come over to SPD.

“AUTO or Standard — doesn’t bother me — I’m happy to be here”

I’ll drive whatever. I’m not brand loyal.

Screw that, Stwik. This Eaton Automated Trash Dumpster is me swearing off automatics altogether from this truck forward. Our fleet purchase guy knows, too. I’m getting a 13-speed next year. This bloody thing is what I’d imagine the early 4-speed automatics felt like... it’s hot garbage.

DD15/13 speed midroof Cascadia and I’ll be happy. I’d ask for Kenworth but I don’t want a Paccar motor... so.... zzzzzzz.

ANYWAY, I ran into the team that originally got Purple Nurple back in 2016... they did the first 300k with the truck.

Husband looks at me, point blank...

So, I posted this question in the wrong thread earlier. @shogun was gracious enough to help me out.

I have a Roadking cb in our dump truck and it is a great little radio. Only problem is that even on dim it is very bright. Too bright for nighttime driving .

Shogun said that I can take it to a radio tech and have them switch out the resistor for the lights. Thank you sir, I'll look for someone to do that.

I learned before that asking questions in the cb forum produces far more information than desired.

 

Was gonna be tomorrow morning but I guess I’m gonna have to do some more I5 turn arounds before going east
