Has anyone rented a virtual office for their business? I am looking to rent one in OK so I can save money on IRP and taxes. The office I am looking at provides a physical address, a lease agreement, mail and phone service, day offices and conference rooms.
My big question is if such an office would satisfy the OK DMV and allow me to register my equipment there. In Idaho I have to show them a utility bill, my drivers license ( I would want to get an OK drivers license using the virtual office address, too, if necessary), or other proof that I have a business there before they will renew my IRP each year.
Thanks for any feedback.

You might want to find out what the difference in your property taxes will be once you lose your homestead exemption because your location is now OK. It might be more than you would actually save.
Vampire Thanks this. -
I'm not looking to move, and as long as I am living in my home, I would keep the exemption. I'm looking to set up my business in a new "virtual" location instead of here in the state I reside in. The only difference being that instead of leasing an office in OK I want to save money by using a part-time virtual office which provides physical presence.
Thanks for your input! -
Yeah, I got that it was a "virtual" office. When you change your DL and claim to be be in OK instead of ID they won't care if it's a virtual address. How much will you save by having Ok IRP?

Not having dealt with OK IRP they may accept this but in the several states that I looked at they would want to see utility bills not what a virtual office will provide. Now OK may accept this but what you are talking about is what they cracked down on. And OK was one of the top offenders.
Vampire, x1Heavy and VisionLogistics Thank this. -

Hello, We are in need of a virtual office can anyone make some suggestions. This is new to me.

I don't know anything more than that. Except that as a company driver in a big enough fleet it seems to have been quite the thing to have for them in general. They would not go to that expense if they did not also realize a greater savings in some way. -
No IRP office will allow virtual office or mail forwarding service if they find out about it. However it may go through either way, depend of the state. Every state have their own list of accepted proof of residency or established business. If you are able to provide requared amount (normally 3) from that list your plan may work out. Either way I suggest to get virtual office organization as small as possible (maybe from Craigslist or similar, not well known service) because some states personell have too much time to google the address. And secondly, I would get virtual office with an option of having meetings i.e. rent the office space, for the cases to "make company records available" for the audit. Ideally records must be maintained in that address.
