Welcome to the 21st century. A continuation of the 20th century.

You only get paid to drive. Driver. Nothing else.

Been around this issue tons of times
How do you want your 70k a year to be itemized on your pay stub? Less cpm and all this accessory pay? Straight cpm? You did the same job. I guess if you want 10 lines on your pay stub rather than 1 or 2 some employer will humor you. Careful, may even make less than previous!

They pay you to do a job. You don't like the pay check at the end of the day, do something else.

It's easier to get through the day if you complain online about how much extra work you had to do. Fuel your truck, clean the windows, shift the gears. Take a shower at the end of the day. So overworked. Lol

Put the chains on without "chain pay"

    Or

Park and wait for the Spring thaw.

If that's how you like it fine with me. I'm paid by the hour

We pay our drivers by the hour so they get their normal pay when they chain up.
    Same with tarping.
I know a lot of companies don't pay their drivers anything extra for chaining but maybe that's just one of the many reasons why they can't keep drivers. If a driver gets out there in the cold and the snow and chains up to keep the freight moving versus shutting down and having a pushed back delivery date I think he ought to get something for it. By chaining and running in the snow he's helping to keep the company profitable.
A little extra in the paycheck might make the job easier.
