Very well said, if they have customers that continuously hold drivers up they either tell them fix the issue, let us have dropped trailers or they won’t haul their freight. According to the guy in charge of sales, they have customers begging them to take on more freight lanes because of the great service FCC as a whole provides.

Dropped my weekend load at Four Oaks NC, then went to Farmville.for a CH Robinson load of corrugated cardboard going to Rome GA for a 0700-1400 window tomorrow. Made it to the Petro in Florence SC before calling it being as I started at 5am from the pickle park at the WVa/VA border. Traffic was a bear on the WV turnpike yesterday afternoon. And 2 plus hour wait today, at the shipper didn't help.runningman0661 and Crusader66 Thank this. -
Absolutely True! I was standing with Runningman.when they were discussing this. At orientation when I was talking with my dispatcher and sales guy for SE region, he said the same thing. We will stop doing business with these companies if our drivers aren't getting treated right. Where.have you ever heard anything like this before?? The pro-driver attitude permeates from the top down. It's a creed, motto, and gospel here!!mushroom1464, tolson, Crusader66 and 2 others Thank this. -
Momma said there would be days like this..... today I am that guy broke down on the fuel island. Starter went out, tried to bypass it crossover jump it, no luck. Asked a couple drivers to try and pull start me, “ I ain’t got time for that driver.” So after four hours of sitting here waiting on road service (happened right at T/A shift change) the techs are replacing the starter. I guess everyday can’t be unicorns and roses.

Started just before 2am from Florence SC but dared not cross Atlanta at.630am. Pulled into the Flying J Siloam GA before 0530, got 50 gallons of fuel so I could shower when I woke up from my 2 and a half hour nap. Did that, left at 9am still ran into some congestion. Wished they would come up with another bypass route like Raleigh. My vey. Got to IP in Rome GA before 1pm (had an open.window from 7am-2pm) and was the only one there. Two trucks came behind me and got unloaded first. So much for FCFS! My 14 and 70 ran out so I was allowed to PC to the Flying J in Resaca because there's always good parking after 5pm here. Preplanned for noon ATL load going to Scranton SC south of Florence for Thursday morning then bounce.to Sue Bee honey in Elizabethtown NC going back to Conyers for Friday morning before deadheading.home. Nice to have PC! Like being able to get to a safe have where there are bathrooms since I don't have Howard Stern's squatty potty in the truck! Ew!!!

Congrats to runningman on a great accomplishment! I'm not a trucker nor do l have any involvement with the industry. I've been reading his postings for years on this site. Cheeseman, Malone, Schneider, Abilene, magnum, FCC. It does not matter where this guy is or how bad it is, he always finds a way to make the most of any opportunity thrown his way.
Rarely does he complain about the long hours or weeks away from the family. His attitude is always positive. It has been very enlightening to read his postings over the years. This award couldn't have been given to a better person. I'm elated to see that it was bestowed upon this great person.cdavis188, Strykor782, runningman0661 and 4 others Thank this. -
Yesterday, went to Quaker Mixing company in Atlanta for a load going to Scranton SC for 5am this morning. As of 5am, I sit in Lugoff SC rest area waiting for a split sleeper which happens at 641am. Yes, I am late 75 miles away. How did this happen? Started my clock.at 0930 in Resaca at Flying J, I got to my appointment at 1140 for a nooner, and did not leave until 440pm right into the teeth of Atlanta evening rush.
My dispatcher got my appointment changed to 11am, so off the hook there, but it took me over 90 minutes to get around 285 over to I 20 due to an accident just shy of the I 20 interchange. It's why I call this "The Great American Parking Lot". I had planned to run this to the doorstep not even knowing it the receiver had on-site parking, but the lost time and that I still had to scale my load over 41k of oats, grits, granola bars and the like, sealed my doom. I was 100 lbs over on my drives, slide two holes up with the Martinez GA scale coming up. They were closed!
So I will get this load there between 0800 and 0830 then boogie to Elizabethtown, NC pickup more honey and head to Conyers GA for another live unload tomorrow noon. Yeesh! Live load, live unload, rinse, repeat, short hophop. I am finding out what SE regional is about here. Still in its infancy and it's growing pains as they try to get new freight customers especially drop and hooks which defines dry van.
Then deadhead home 500+ for the weekend (paid deadhead). Time to shave and get going within an hour, will shower during split break. Good Day Sunshine........Crusader66 and runningman0661 Thank this.
