Highjacking this thread? I just offered input, as in answering a question. Nothing I said in this thread was designed to derail the original post. And I don’t work at Grady Hudson. So you can take some of that bass out your voice now

Didn't you have good benefits, paid holidays off, good hourly pay with OT? But on the other hand might as well just crawl into the bunk and go to bed.

That is one of the things that many people don't realize about local driving... For the most part driver's work just as many hours A-day driving locally as long haul drivers do but then most drivers have probably close to an hour drive each way to and from work so that doesn't leave you very much time to do anything at home other than the shower eat and go right back to bed...

    yes to all th
yes to all that. but it is a grind. i don't know what you have done. but there is a lot of dock work before you run a route in the morning. a lot after you get back. it is a outdoor dock so you freeze this time of year. yesterday i worked 9 hours on route driving. 14 stops over 250 miles round trip. then worked 2 hours in the morning two hours in evening. morning your loading trucks. evening unloading and putting on linehaul trucks that work overnight.

this is true. by the time i get home i am exhausted. and it is not very comfortable. 4 hours on a outside dock in 25 degree weather will take it out of you
