No milk crate, but I bought a nice 2014 Cascadia day cab shell today, so this will be the worlds only 36" Cascadia Flat top sleeper, lol

Yeah, that is the plan, it will give us factory floor, roof and back wall panels, all we will have to fabricate will be the two side panels, "We hope" lol

Truth is this is my replacement for my Pete 384 crew cab that I sold 2 years ago, I REALLY miss that truck, but the real story was as much as I loved its look and feel, it was not a good OTR truck, meaning that even with the crew cab, and the fold down rear seat, I couldn't stretch out in the back, cab was just too narrow, on top of that when you fold those seats down to make a bed you are laying right across the split between the seat cushions, it' becomes uncomfortable very quickly.

On top of that it was a lot of wasted space in that cab, the crew cab adds 52" but it's just not a great space other than taking 5 people in the truck. Also with the extra doors and fiberglass roof cap, it was heavier than it needed to be, the Cascadia cab is wide enough that I will be able to stuff a full 35x80 mattress in it, AND, I think this Cascadia will have a couple more inches of head room, even though its a day cab.

No pics but I did get the new truck dropped off at the fab shop, looks like we can stretch the WB 17" from 173 to 190, without stretching the frame or moving any cross members or center bearings and still keep the rear shaft under the required 72".

After that they are removing that 3 batt vocational box that is on it now and will slide the DEF/fuel tank back 30" to match the fuel tank location on the other side, that will give me just enough room to mount the new 4 batt box with the matching aluminum cover in front of the DEF tank, when all done it should look like this, [IMG]

It sounds like you're modifying a 2-axle day cab just so you'll have sleeper. Couldn't you have just bought an Old Dominion truck and had everything you wanted OEM instead of piece mealing it together?
