They sure do check elds. Even familiar enough with ours to check summary, available, and ask for a paper log book, instruction card, and spot edits.
But next time I'll just tell them "Hey you guys don't check elds so go away"
I am sure he will just send me on my way -
You must have the wrong Elog driver. Get a VDO that prints the 4 ft long grocery receipt and you can roll on after they give you a ticket for some other BS06driver Thanks this. -
Appearance, attitude, and cooperation go along way
But when Mr So and so comes thru with a shady looking tractor, they may (or may not) want to "check things out" to make sure. Cause they know that people like me cannot simply unplug the Elog. Log out yes, but then that opens up another can of worms for another conversation...
...and again, I speak in very broad terms. Common sense goes along way, but then I'm a steering wheel holder, in a company truck, that can barely go 65... At least to the experienced among drivers.OLDSKOOLERnWV, Trucker61016, rank and 1 other person Thank this. -

(b) An ELD must be designed so that its display may be reasonably viewed by an authorized safety official without entering the commercial motor vehicle. For example, the display may be untethered from its mount or connected in a manner that would allow it to be passed outside of the vehicle for a reasonable distance.
4.8.1.3. Information To Be Shown on the Printout and Display at Roadside
(a) The printout and display must show reports for the inspected driver's profile and the unidentified driver profile separately. If there are no unidentified driver records existing on the ELD for the current 24-hour period and for any of the previous 7 consecutive days, an ELD does not need to print or display unidentified driver records for the authorized safety official. Otherwise, both reports must be printed or displayed and provided to the authorized safety official.
Folks use the email to meet those parameters. Ours will also undock and can be carried into an inspection. We can also fax, email, or print them.rank Thanks this. -
(d) Driver use of ELD. On request by an authorized safety official, a driver must produce and transfer from an ELD the driver's hours-of-service records in accordance with the instruction sheet provided by the motor carrier.rank Thanks this. -
