What? There was a message that went out today that said while you're on home time you're not authorized to drive your truck around like it's your personal vehicle. But there was nothing saying personal conveyance is no longer allowed. Not exactly the same thing, in my opinion.

The point was they want the truck attached to the trailer while on home time so the trailer is secure. So don't drive the truck around like it's a personal vehicle while on home time.

No driving your truck around home like it’s your personal car.

How do they get around town to do shopping and eating i wonder ?

Are they forced to sit at the Yard or a Breakroom indefinitely ?

If Poly wouldn't let us off the yard they would be over for a lot of us

They just don’t want you driving the truck around at home as your personal car. We still drive around by our yards.

I had a friend at Crete who used to do that while on home time. It finally came back and bit him on the butt. Got hit in a parking lot on his second day off.

True enough. The last place I ever wanted to be during hometime was in my truck.

I didn’t have a car while I was OTR. But I never used the truck once I got home.. I drove my wife to work and used her car. Didn’t make sense to have another car for 5-6 days a month I was home.
Now that I’m home every weekend I got a Hoopty to drive around.....
I did drop my Magnum trailer in Greensboro NC and bob tailed home 50 miles. Looks like that wouldn’t fly now. You also could NOT leave a personal vehicle in Greensboro at the Magnum droplot....

    Zata40 and WesternPlains Thank this.

    Hello all.

Looks like I’ll be one of the many folks at the 01/07 orientation. I’ve been driving a flatbed for the past 2 years and change but I think I’ve had enough of tarps and chains for a while.

It’ll be nice to be able to leave all my work gear (boots, overalls, gloves, thermals,) at home a get a nice pair of sweat pants and some crocs. From what I see at the fuel island those are standard issue for reefer folks, right? :)

Well... bring your thermals... it gets pretty cold in ND and MN... just in case!!!
And bring your unlimited data so you can watch movies while you get loaded and unloaded....

    Lowlite Thanks this.
