There were a lot of milk and cheese haulers in that area that used Cruiseliners, so it's got a cushy life now. That truck hauled heavy loads, I guarantee it.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

More than likely its a direct trans with those 4.17s. All of my dads e-6s were 4.17 with direct

Yes it's a direct transmission. She won't break any speed records

Adams trucking had one that was 2 tone black and silver, it looked good. It was a good 270" wheel base and pulled a dump bucket.

How about a Maxidyne coupled to a 5 speed?

In 76 there was a red one that pulled part time into the milk plant I worked at, it was something to drive that rig out of the pump house(called intake by the help).

    Oxbow Thanks this.

if you want a maxidyne you want an earlier one. They had higher compression and advanced timing with a big ole Schweitzer hanging off the side. My dad said his 77 or 78 237 was a turd compared to the 71 F700 (both 5 speed and 4.17 direct with tube tires).

A 300 maxi produces 315/1425 @1020. Go look what the 1693 and kta put out for torque. Pretty impressive for 672 cubes compared to the big boys back then. Macks down fall was not keeping up in the otr segment.
