he had said he was only at his CURRENT employer for 7 MONTHS...and as a result, i had quoted HIS ORIGINAL POSTING....

i did not read chinatowns response that he had, had another job....

and besides, there ARE 13 months in a year.......

especially if one mucks up one month, and has to repeat it....

Lots to choose from then. Put some applications in. I was confused as to how much experience you have, but now know it's 13 mos. That's great; plenty of good outfits to choose from. Are you interested in dry van or reefers or what?

there are a lot of companies that care about job hoping. We the market cools you won’t be able to buy a decent job if you’re a hoper

this is correct..many smaller companies i apply to "just for fun", since i am retiring soon, explicitly state, "no more than x number of jobs in a 5 year period"

If a company doesn’t, it’s a good sign you don’t want their job.

    Time for a new company.

    EDIT ADD

Just to be clear, my reasoning for this is simple. From what you have said, they lied to you. If they had said no from the beginning, then that's not good, but it would have been honest, at least.

When they say you can be home for xmas, then you make plans. When they break their word and do not send you home as promised, then they have just proved that they are untrustworthy, and don't give even the smallest #### about you and your family.

I normally do not suggest simply quitting because of one mistake or bad experience. What you have described, however, is inexcusable, IMHO. Xmas is a major holiday. It means a great deal to a very large number of people. Playing games with drivers and their xmas holiday plans is something your driver manager should be fired for.

Just received a "pop up" on my computer screen from DOT Transportation & they have a terminal in Mt. Sterling, IL:
Class A CDL - Regional Company Driver - No Touch
This is a driving only job…no-touch! In this job you’ll spend time behind the wheel taking loads between Dot locations or to customers that don’t require our drivers to unload the trailer.
"Dot Transportation reimburses new hires for truck driver training tuition, if the schooling has been completed within the last 3 years at a Dot-approved institution. DTI will reimburse tuition after 90 days of employment, over a 3-year time period. Maximum out-of-pocket reimbursement is $7,000.

Once employed, you will find that DTI has one of the best finishing programs in the industry. Student drivers are compensated $750 per week of orientation and training. Drivers with over 200,000 miles of confirmed experience are compensated $1,000 per week of orientation and training. All drivers take at least one week of DTI training classes. Students receive up to 8 weeks of training on the road with one of our hand-picked, professional trainers."

I know that you're trying to do your employer a decent job. I respect that. But here's the deal: If you and your company make an agreement that you will drive for them for a certain amount of money and a certain amount of off time,...

...and you uphold your end of the deal,...

...make them hold up to their end of the deal. Period. If they don't hold up to their end of the bargain, you walk. If they refuse to uphold theirs that what you must do.

It's almost like being bullied. If you don't stand up, the bullying gets worse. It NEVER gets better. But if you make your stand once, you will never have to worry about it in life ever again.

    Luck in battle.
