I have been doing some research on companies to work for and this posting has got my eye. I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight into this account. here is what part of the posting states

Oregon and Washington Dedicated Truck Driver Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Live within 75 miles of Bend, OR Minimum 3 months of Class A driving experience

I wonder why they require you to be within 75 miles of bend, Oregon There ain't any Target DC In Bend Oregon but there is a target store. I wonder if you have to drive to bend to pickup your truck or what or can u take truck home. and is this a split seat type of position.

any info about this account is appreciated thanks

The Target DC is located just in Tangent OR. My guess is that the truck is parked at the DC.

Well I guess the being within 75 miles of Bend which I am, They want you within a certain distance from the DC which I guess make sense after thinking about it. But still I live like 3 hours away from the Dc That would be 6 hours total every week I would after to commute From La Pine Oregon which would cut into my home time. Which I wonder if doing the target dedicated is better or the western regional. and if I did the Regional if I would take truck home or have a place to park it in central Oregon which would cut my commute time down. Also If I did the dedicated I pretty sure you would have to be there really early in the morning when you go back which means I would have to leave my house pretty much in the middle of the night. decision decision. Anyways Looking for advice on what you all think and what would be better especially in regards to miles and pay etc... And what is like to do the Target dedicated I would assume it is nothing like the Dollar tree account But I like the fact the with the Target dedicated you would supposedly be home every week.

    Anyways Thanks

what I have seen happening at stores where target is using different trucking companies is drop and hook. in the dock. 3 dock set up. two are dedicated to target trailers. one of those is always open. 3rd dock used for storage or third party deliveries.

yeah but once you are in the truck thats paid miles..... or should be. So once you report to the truck and are enroute to the DC from th epark location that should be paid miles.

and it may be that loads are staged at the Bend location. Honestly, we havent seen anyone running that account on that coast to know and only one or so posting anything about Target period, and that was out of NC

Yeah copy that. I will be probably calling the recruiter this week to try to find out some info. But of course I don't really trust them. In my experience A lot of times they can't even give u the info you are asking for or they sugar coat it. So I rather find out things from actual drivers who know the inside scope if you all know what I mean lol.

Thanks for replying to my post.

I talked to the recruiter today and I was told pay would be 0.32/ mile. For the target dedicated which u just go though 3 states. Which doing the math at if you did around 2,000 miles a week. Does not net you much to even live on. Does that seem right. Now I'm starting to second guess that account. That is probably why they are offering a bonus. Does that pay seem about right. I been that pay seems to be really low. I also have just under a year of experiance.
