Is it helpful to buy an older Mc number?

My numbers go back to 1984. Make me a offer, if good enough you can have mine and I'll start new.

Some myths are ridiculous. Error and trial is how everybody learns. No way to avoid sweat and low blows. I yet to see someone showing how well they did after buying the MC# - just the number. Spending money on it seems like the very first error on the "error and trial " path to learn.
Unless it could proven or shown that Premium Insurance can be actually bought cheap, without any deception to the Insurance Carrier when you present yourself as an old MC#.Last edited: Jan 20, 2019

So does it mean that it is all legit to buy a matured MC# in order to have discounted Insurance rates? If so, this means that insurance underwriting policies don't make sense. For example, I bought insurance as a seasoned driver and owner op. and according to this I was a larger liability risk than say an ex union plumber who in his retirement - solo 401 invested/bought an older MC#. I can't see any logic.
Edit:
My first year close to 15K
2nd year 10K
3rd year slightly below 10K I think had I had time to shop around more it could have been closer to 8.5 - 9K.
2 year old MC# gives 5K -6K discount in my case
As far as work as rates, it is hard to estimate but if someone has nothing but load-boards to work with, it does not matter too much. After 6 months most brokers will work with you and pretty much all after one year.Last edited: Jan 20, 2019
