I feel the need to also add this; I am not talking trash about the company I work for. truth be known, I should have known better. I should have investigated every Avenue. THIS MAY NOT BE YOUR EXPERIENCE. I am just saying I have regrets, now I know better for the future.

Prime Lease Purchase is like any other. You’re assuming all the risk, small chance if ownership at the end, paying all their costs for their truck, being mis-classified as a contractor, and at settlement time your take home is, at most, 15% greater than a company driver; that’s only if you’re running smart regarding fuel, lanes, and maintenance. It’s not worth it, no lease purchase is worth it. All you’re doing is buying a slightly higher paying job than a company guy and assuming all that risk for little gain.

I am.about to go back out otr and was considering doing this or a lease similar but I think I will pass for now. How many miles did your lease truck have when you got it and how much longer do you have on it. Think I will wait a few more years and just go out and buy a used truck. I know there was a guy on YouTube, Mark Staite, that was preaching the Prime lease for a while now he has disappeared...hmm wonder why?

I got it at 80,000 miles. I had pay problems to start, bunk heater not working, had to take it back for dot inspection and they were suppose to do the oil change but didn't so I was Right back again. It started having major problems at the 200,000 Mark I have about 1 1/2 yrs left on it and its at 215,360. Paccar engine does not help. If it were a Cummins or Detroit I could get done at petro or ta. The wait for peterbuilt is forever. If u do decide to go lease, just try to get something u can get fixed and keep it moving.
Paccar has to go to dealership, wait for them to work u in, wait for part, etc. Covered by warranty but what is that really worth if u gotta sit forever?! Would be cheaper to pay to get it fixed urself and keep moving.
Save up some money before u go lease, please! It will help so much! Its not all bad, kinda like boot camp for owner-operator! Just be prepared!

Misesian said; 15% more than a company driver but paying for repairs! Truth! Good experience for some things but take careful consideration.

If you only have a year and a half and then the truck is yours guess I would stick it out if I were you. Yes seems just about when any truck starts to hit the 200 to 300,000 mile mark things start going kaput. Yea a Detroit would be my first choice
Think I am going to wait and stick with company driving for a while longer

The volvos engine has been known as the best post emissions engines.

I drove a Volvo for a while but the def system went out in it. I "heard" they all do that but I dunno. Up until that point, it was certainly reliable. It was a 2012 and it went for a yr with just typical preventative maintenance! It turned like a dream!! Super easy to maneuver!

That doesn’t sound good at all. I think you can lease a new truck from Werner for $670 a week and they cover maintenance. I am by no means telling anyone to do that. I posted as a comparison to what the OP was paying.
