Just got my authority and I have been unable to find commercial insurance for my Cargo Van anywhere! Progressive is the only one that will insure it and they're wanting $1200 a month. Is this right for a CARGO VAN??? Anyone have any other company referrals???

Cargo van as in a 53' dry van or a furniture van?
How many years of trucking experience do you have?

Not a 53' Dry Van just a Cargo Van for smaller commodities. 1 year experience.

There wanting $1200 because of your experience level and may also have something to do with any violations that you may have if any... have you tried any insurance companies in the city you live in like local insurance agencies?

Chances are if Progressive is the only one that will insurance it and they are saying $1200 that's probably gonna be the cheapest. I use Lancer Insurance but they require 2 years experience.

Seems way high . I had my own authority in a cargo van years ago and it was nowhere near that amount .I had progressive as well ( zero violations ). Maybe requirements have changed with Progressive, maybe driving record not the best or maybe a miscommunication . Personally , I would call again .

I dont think it's high since you are getting a commercial insurance. I am guessing it's the million dollar coverage for cargo, million for truck and 250 for... well you know. If that's the case then 1200 is fine. It's generally between 800 and 1600. Absolutely based in your price is driving history and amount of experience sort of speak. So 1200 is fine. Drive, dont get I with trouble and the rate will be lowered just like they do with regular cars.
