I have yet to see a shop without the ability to dispose of fluids. My shop a small one locally, they take anything liquid. Once a week a recovery truck shows up, drains their collection tank that has fuel, coolant, oils and god only knows what else. Recovery truck delivers to a facility that makes sure to recover what is recoverable and incinerate the left overs.

I try to run a gallon per 200/250 gallons or so. If I just splash them to get home I skip it usually.

atf is a cleaner. It's actually better then oil but it can't take the heat that oil can. It also works better then a convention cleaner and it much cheaper.

Kind of a silly question. That would be like taking a shower, and putting dirty underwear back on. Getting rid of old or contaminated fuel is a tough deal today. Years ago, late at night , we'd sprinkle the fuel on a gravel parking lot, it helped keep the dust down, today they'll send to one of those urine soaked heck hole prisons in Peru for doing that. Truth be known, if I had a truck and changed filters, late at night, I'd still sprinkle it on a gravel lot. If you're one of those "save the planet" types, empty the fuel into a gallon jug, and put it in a dumpster. Let the landfill handle it.

If you have oil heat, dump it in your tank.

Personally, I don't see it as a big deal.

Think about all the asphalt dump trucks. They use fuel to keep the asphalt from sticking to their dump beds.
I used to pack around one of them 2 gallon pump spray bottles. I think it held.

Not any more. Fuel oil for the box was outlawed, at least in Wis. and hefty fines for that. You have to use that soapy bubble crap, that doesn't work near as well as fuel oil. Many drivers, outlaws mostly, still use fuel oil for the box, but never on the spread pan.

You guys and your atf thing, it takes two to three gallons of the stuff to actually do any good PER tank.

Or just fill the fuel filters up with atf.
