I have been told with a straight face that, "I don't worry about cutting off big trucks because they are always watching out for you." I was, to say the least, incredulous. Mostly I think bad behavior in four wheelers and truck drivers alike is the "me first" mentality. As a rule I don't make comments, but when necessary I can be downright creative with the language. More often than not four wheelers don't think of trucks having drivers at all. Even those gals showing off their naughty bits are showing them to a TRUCK DRIVER. If they thought of us as Bill or Ray or Mike they wouldn't do it, there is an anonymous nature to it that lets them display and us voyeur. A nice trade off if your into that sort of thing. And I am. From all the talk, you would think that there is scarcely a clothed female in the country from June to September. I have found it to be a pleasant but fairly rare diversion.

If I ever feel sexually harassed, I vow to chase down the offender and give her a good tongue lashing.

I don't really have a lot of problems with four wheelers. I take the stand that most drivers of four wheelers really don't have a clue. I certainly don't want to run over somebody's child strapped helplessly into a carseat because Mommy was texting and putting on her makeup while steering with her knee or because Daddy was impatient. As such, I tend to look out for them more than they look out for themselves. On one hand, it gives them no reason to flip me the single finger salute. On the other hand, it does less than nothing for their benefit when in a situation where another driver couldn't care less because they start thinking it's the rule of the road and they rule it. Kind of a catch 22.

Having just finished my first week of truck driving school I have personally found that my attitude around semi's have changed quite a bit. Might be that some of these other people that keep cutting off drivers need to be shown just how long it takes to stop a tractor-trailer. Why it takes so long to get rolling from a stop to the posted speed limits. And why it is necessary to pull across 2 or more lanes to make that turn.

I think a sign like the wide right turns one should be added. "It takes 3 football fields to stop this truck, think about that when you cut me off" "Cut me off, I lose my job, you lose your life."

I like the "If you cannot see my mirrors I cannot see you." That illustrates what your field of view really is in the cab. And maybe for my own sake my first few months an "Inexperienced Driver at the wheel." Wonder how that one would be taken.:biggrin_25519:

My late father-in-law used to get back at drivers flipping the bird.....he'd pull along side of them and blow them a kiss...it would especially get the male drivers freaked...my father-in-law always got a good laugh at that....

If its taking 2 lanes to make a turn you need to get your money back, and go to a actualy school that will teach you to turn. By the way your new handle in "2 lane" from here forward. This is the proper way for you to get a handle, you dont get to choose it,,m it is given to you. So from here forever more you shall be known as "2 Lane".

That entirely depends on if you want to drag the trailer across the posts or not out here. I've seen a few drivers nearly take out one of those posts and the people standing next to it. I feel that if you need to go a bit farther out to safely make the turn that so be it. I've always giving semi's extra room just because of that.

If you take 2 lanes your not going to drag against any posts. Just all the cars in those 2 lanes...:biggrin_2554:
