Nothing you can do. Truck will shut down or go into limp mode soon enough. Sorry bro

That should be an Eaton Transmission. Think they call it an Endurance.

    Endurant, I think....

That’s a 12 speed with a creep and 2 reverse gears. I have one in mine.

    I’m in a brand-new 579 Pete. Paccar-branded Eaton 12 AMT behind a 13L.

Have to work to get it below 8-mpg.

Anyone who hasn’t driven an auto from the last couple of years doesn’t have a relevant opinion on an auto trans anymore. May as well tell me about a Fluid Drive or a Cruise-O-Matic.

A year ago I was running a heavy-slosh tanker from a T880 KW with an 18 behind a 15L Cummins. 18 up, and 18 down plenty of runs.

Changed jobs and ran a Detroit 12 Auto. Did I miss the manual? I reached for it twice in 90k miles.

Mechanics checkout was 30-minutes with this tractor. Mainly to do with Auto-Start and battery APU.

But the BIG caution was extended idle time and the dashboard signal calling for Re-Gen. DO. NOT IGNORE. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT $200. DO NOT LEAVE LOCATION. Immediately start Re-Gen process.

Check with your company. Stage One is ordinary. Stage Two ignored and you’ll REALLY piss of someone. ($$$$).

Only auto I’ve ever driven was a Schneider flat top sleeper for their tank division about... 8 or 9 years ago. It was on the right of the steering wheel. And honestly, it wasn’t bad except reversing.

That said I prefer standard because it’s so much cheaper to fix and maintain in the long run.

Im in my 3rd new Pete since 2013, they all seem to have electrical gremlins, mainly things in the dash. Heater motor, radio issues, random dash light issues. Other than the radio problems in my '16, they all just disappeared...Eventually
Biggest pita for me is the random squeaks and creaks from the bunk cabinets or wherever, irk the he** outta me if I cant find them. Good luck with the new ride.
