Wife's niece is an RN in NY. She was complaining to my wife a couple of weeks ago about the fact that her tax return was less than the previous year. Blaming it on Trump and using pejorative terms like, "Trump Tax."

You see, she has been used to getting that refund every year in order to "take a vacation."

When I asked if she adjusted her withholding status from the previous year and whether or not she realized she was receiving more on each check during the year because of the new tax plan, she went completely silent ;-)

Note how non of the examples are of a W2 truck driver getting screwed of their ability to deduct their per diem at the end of the year on their personal taxes.

Itemize it if you think it's bigger than the standard deduction.

The standard deduction for a married couple is so big now, it actually doesn't benefit them to bite off the $400K mortgage. They can actually save, but most won't because they are incapable of thinking for themselves, and buy a nice home with a 10, 15, or 20 year mortgage, depriving only the finance companies of their hard earned money.

That's the whining in a nutshell. I guess they all thought they got some raise and were afraid to ask where the money was coming from.

I'm not using any political names though, that would be against company policy.

Well, you noticed I bracketed the pejorative term with quotation marks so as not to incriminate myself ;-)
