Good morning Pharm, I just got caught up on the last several days. Are you keeping that log book up? It's no joking matter, they will pull you out of the truck and beat you with clubs and then fine you hard! Also, you need to know how many miles you run in each State to file your IFTA. Cash flow, are you billing from the road or sending bills home? There are folks who will buy your bills but you pay a percent. Clutches, now you know why guys don't use the clutch, they last longer! Especially when loaded, start in the lowest gear, use NO throtlle, and let the truck get moving. Once moving, learn to make every shift, up and down without the clutch. Use very little throttle alowing the truck to gain momentum gently. Your truck will love you for it, and you'll save a lot on fuel! I'll keep checking in.

I talked to Pharm on the phone. He made it to Florida from Ohio. He got un-loaded this evening. He has been dispatched on a load going to South Carolina. I will let him tell you of his adventures but,I thought I would give you an up-date. I am sure some of you have been wondering how he is doing. I expect we will hear from him soon.

Wally I hope you are right!

Pharm you were right once you get that insurance in the authority comes back fast!
I filed on 3/09/09, granted 03/27/09. My primary insurance was in on 3/17/09. Almost 3 weeks! Better than the 4-6 week estimate!
    Hope you are doin well!

    Hey fellas!!!!!!!!!!!!! :biggrin_25525:

yeah no news has been pretty darn good news. I'm runnin like a darned fool! 5 loads this week and I have 3 more already preplanned through Monday night! I've been running mostly NC and south of there. A lot of FL to AL or GA or SC. I have no problem getting loads out of FL for this kind of Trailer apparently. There is one company Mosaic that you could pretty much just show up and they'd probably load with something to take somewhere.

Ok the damage... well Wayne (God Bless this MAN!) just helped me over the phone to move my 5th wheel after the DOT got me for 1600 lb over on my drives. I went over 2 scales in FL with this load (And by the way FL scales are NEVER closed) but Virginia got me after fueling. Who knew diesel weighed so much? (Well this guy does now). Oh they also informed me I'm a wanted man in FL, so that sucks. Probably an old driving with suspended from a decade ago when I lived there. I don't know why they gave me a license all these years if there was a problem. Well anyway I'm sure it won't be that big a deal, all these states want is money. :biggrin_25516:

Also, my driver side skirt came off somewhere on I-95, so if anyone sees one, please feel free to return it.... along with my first muffler somewhere near Dothan AL.

Lets see, ok my electric mirrors are on the blink. Now it's like the down button is constantly being pressed. That put me in a jam when I was in the center lane and my passenger mirror went all the way down.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to posting some financials for you guys who are looking for good info on O/O possibilities. I got an early start Sunday, and a really quick and dirty estimate is that I've generated about 4k so far this week with this drop off that I'm at now. Since I"m not going home the weekend that will be a bit more too, I have one more load to deliver tomorrow, same as my first run ever, so I've come full circle.

I have NO idea what I get to keep yet so please be patient, I'm sure it's only a fraction of that, but it's not a bad starting "to the truck" figure I don't think. With the $1800 that first week to pay a good amount of the fuel advances I should be able to make my payments for the month with just the one week. That would be really sweet! (I still haven't sent in a single invoice... I'm terrible with that, so now I'm going to have to pay that 2% for quick pay...grrrr)

I still suck very much at angled backing. I may just be worse than when I started because now I don't have that dumb confidence I had the first week, it's become more of an educated, ok don't do that. So now I'm that guy that parks on the lane. Next chance I get in an empty lot I'm gonna do it 100 times. It's tough with the tandems all the way to the back. :biggrin_25512:
