Not sure what your saying here.
You are waiting out the chain controls, not going to move until they are lifted? This has you arriving late on your delivery? Have questions.

I came west bound over i70 yesterday around 10am barefoot. There was no chain restrictions either way. Friday afternoon I had to chain east bound from 176 or 178 to mile marker 190. It would’ve been easy enough barefoot until a 4 wheeler came to a stop. No way I would got moving up that grade again.

I was surprised at the amount of trucks that ignored the chain up lights on Friday. The majority were tankers. Coming back east to Denver maybe they were empty?

With my limited experience I also leave the side windows cracked. I was surprised at how easy it was to hear the difference between tight and loose chains.

Our hearing is pretty amazing sometimes. I used to win bets with recently-met friends that I could tell if a silver quarter was mixed into a handful of newer quarters and dropped on a metal surface. The sound of a ringing silver quarter is amazingly distinct from newer quarters.

That is one of the most strange and interesting things I’ve heard in awhile. You would’ve taken my money on that bet.

I’m going to listen for it next chance I get.

I forget what I was listening to, I think it was NPR's TED radio hour, where they did a segment about a blind guy that had basically taught himself to "see" through echo-location. He would make a rapid clicking sound and "hear" obstacles in his way. He could tell from the sounds what kind of texture those obstacles were.

We have lots of abilities that go unused....
