So...according to a few billionaires, if truckers were willing to pay for parking they (including the owners of Love's) would put in more parking spaces.

I'm not a driver, just a driver coordinator, but that sounds ridiculous. Yes, they would be willing to put in more spaces if it paid them to do so. Our guys don't have to pay for their trip stuff so we would foot the bill if they had to pay for a space but if they had to pay out of pocket for it, boo. In a job where you risk your livelihood and well being every time you go into work, there should be some benefits like knowing you will be sleeping safely without it costing you every single time you want to do so. Back to actual drivers giving opinions, sorry to butt in. LOL

So the rich want more money, while the blue collar worker struggles. Sounds about right. Greed wins out over common sense

Just one of the reasons I dont go to ta/petro or pilot/fishhook anymore is their pay to park bs.

You could pave say western Nebraska and we will find a way to fill it up.

Truck parking has little to do with actual cost if parking. Putting in a truck stop is cheap. When one can be put in.
No the problem with parking is NIMBY crowd. Every attempt is blocked by required expensive useless studies or zoning changes that prevent the truck stop is the problem. -
Most of the REALLY crowded truck stops couldnt put in more parking if they wanted to... No land to put it on, everything around them is already bought up... The Flying J in Altoona, IA comes to mind.

Loves has gotten more creative, for instance, putting in a stop with more amenities close by a well used one near an intersection, Oglesby, IL is less than 10 miles from North Utica and has a shop and tirepass, which North Utica doesn't, but it gets parked full, too.

So these places are supposed to supply free parking because....... I would and do gladly pay. Much like me. Services or product (parking) provided, compensation should as well. The idea that someone no matter how much the owners make are obligated to provide parking is crazy.

If I'm spending $2000/wk or more at your establishments, you can #### well provide something besides chemically laden 'food' and a less than clean shower.
