    There’s always the Josef Goebbels method. Repeat a lie often enough, and people will start to believe it.

    Man, it amazes me how much it feels like the guy next to me is hitting my trailer with his when all he's doing is hooking up to his trailer. I literally thought I was going to have to write out an accident report because of how hard my truck shakes every time he bangs his fifth wheel (apparently the latch is stuck). But nope, he's got plenty of clearance.

    MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

    Hey @RebelChick maybe you can shed some light on this from the local side.

    Assigned a load heading to CT at noon... it’s not here on the Yard yet but local will be picking it up in an hour or so...

    I go position my truck to wait and watch the coming and going trailers but doing other stuff so I might have missed it coming in.

    3pm... Walks to the window... people talk... nope, not here yet... ok, plenty of time on this load so it won’t be late but would like to get rolling.

    5pm... call in and talk to Terry...
    oh that loads been in the yard since 10:30am

    Do locals have to start trip and end trip like OTR? Or is there another process going on that could cause the drop times to be wrong or delayed entry? (Say it was dropped at 10:30 but not entered until 3:30 or dropped at 3:30 but entered as 10:30, so the computer was not up to date?

    Thanks.

    Agreed... look just how far we have come in the last century or two... and it will change at a faster pace too... interesting times.

    Yes. We are supposed to begin and end trips just like OTR. Does that always happen? No. I do it, but some aren’t as diligent as me.

    Did you ride the yard to see if it was there when you got the load assignment? If so, then you can prove it may not have been there. Dispatch isn’t known for their truthfulness (say it ain’t so).

    Ya, I forgot my training and didn’t ride the Yard because, you know, it wasn’t there yet... lol ... but I have been reacquainted with why we do.

    But frustrating to be ready and waiting when a simple communication issue, or lack thereof, burns half of your daylight... not that driving to CT in the night was bad, not at all... but I probably needed a nap before rolling... if I had known that is.

    But it’s all good... par for this course... {shrug}
    Waiting on a northeast escape plan now... :)

    Thanks.
