As a person I still feel I have a lot of rights and a lot of freedom to do what I want.
But as a worker we need a lot of rules.
I guarantee you know an oddball that dumps used motor oil on the ground because it came from the ground.
We need laws to stop that kind of nonsense.

Maybe Big Gov needs to not worry about how many hours a day I decide to work.

Laws don’t stop anything. People break laws every day, and they will continue. The only ones that suffer are the ones who try to adhere to the ever increasing burdens of new laws.

Maybe Big Gov sets the hours of service because of all the people that lost family members to tired truck drivers.
Back in the good ole days when the HOS was perfect, or so the old timers say, drivers needed to chew on drug soaked toothpicks to stay awake to drive.

And that's why we need a National database to rid our industry of repeat offenders.

I'm sure the fact that they were running 2 or 3 books at a time on those hos had nothing to do with it. I don't know anybody who actually did that sort of #### you just stop if you're tired and go when you're ready, the way it's supposed to work.

The old hos wasn’t the problem, the current hos are. I’m not necessarily a die hard opponent of elds, but they aren’t the be all end all. They have also brought their own set of problems. For example fuel island rest breaks and parking on the shoulder of the interstate. As far as the data base goes, the only one I would support would be for failed drug test. Big government is not the answer and you legislat morality or maturity.

    Didn't we already cover this?
Our Country was founded with rules and laws that all of them had to follow.
We fought for our independence so that we could have rules and laws, not so we could do whatever we wanted in a lawless society.
Our Founding Fathers created a Government with the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches.
These great people gave their lives fighting for this Government that Governed them.,
To be an American means to have to follow rules and laws.

So shape up or ship out
