Yeah, just to let u guys know... At 750 a week when ur already in the hole with bills, a cash advance is a must. I am not over spending. Really, I'm not. 30 bucks a week on groceries between dollar tree and walmart. 10 dollars on personal items...then bills at home. That includes the bare minimum; rent, lights, food, internet (my daughter is in college) and that is all.

Okay, I don't know if you're ever going to get a really good/accurate answer to your question because none of us know your situation first hand and what you consider good/doable versus what any of us consider that could be apples and oranges.

I'm not in any way familiar with your current company, so can't comment on them either way.

Do you hate PA, or do you hate the job you have now that you are in PA? If your like you can call Millis Transfer, they are based out of Black River Falls, Wisconsin but anywhere in PA should (used to be) in there hiring area anyway.

If CPM is your primary concern you can do better then .40 with them. They don't carry chains so you won't need to be throwing them but you WILL do doing Northeast. Not all the time, but it will be a reg thing, especially considering your home is in PA.

No place is ever perfect, and they are no different. The trucks are set up nicely, but there is a good amount of big brother them also. The miles are there (at least they were for me) as long as you're willing to get into the seat and drive them.

If the 750 a week you mentioned is gross I got my start at Millis and did better then that every week with no experience.

Also, I will probably get tarred and feathered for this, but you may want to look at Craigslist. When I had to come off the road to help with the geriatric generation I found my current job thru there. There was a lot of crap on there but some good ones mixed in if you can take the time to dig thru it all.

Just a suggestion, take it for what it's worth, which isn't really much at all....

If you have over 2 years experience you can get $1,000 a week guaranteed minimum pay. Plus $0.44 cents per mile. $1,000 /$0.44 is 2,272 miles. So the first 2,272 miles pay is guaranteed. If you did 3,000 miles you get $0.44x3,000 you would get $1,320 a week. That pretty hard to do. They run 70 hours in 6 days and do 34 reset every weekend. Small hiring area and no Northeast or nothwest. If you don't get home for your 34 hour reset they pay an extra $100 just to sit in the truck stop

I'm not saying they are the best but you can see some do pay different. Their no catch to minimum pay. Like if have a slow week then a good week they take money back makeup for the slow week. I have seen that before. They run the truck pretty hard I think. Because they are on the hook every week for $1,000+

Yeah, that REALLY took the pressure off of me. I'm guaranteed a certain amount every week so long as I am available all week. If I get a trip out west then I make more than the guarantee. During the winter when our trips out west stop, I look forward to a short trip, a day home, another short trip, a day home. The guarantee is great.

They hire out of PA and OH and MI and IN and IL down to NC that general area. They don't go out west. Maybe TX and OK once in a while. They run you Monday morning to Saturday evening. Then you do 34 reset leave out Monday morning again. So you don't get home during the week.

Your daughter can work. If she's not working she's not really trying. If she's racking up student loans for a degree in wasting time or some high-demand job with high salary, maybe. My college degrees aren't doing anything for me. If she's in college just because it's what comes after high school and she doesn't know what to do, she's setting herself up for student loan debt and no job. I would have been much better off leaving college early and having 5 more years in a good paying job. At a minimum she should be working enough to pay for the internet and everyone's cellphone bills. Working and studying focuses the mind on getting school over and getting a paying job. Going to school and not working makes it very easy to float around without focus.

The pay advance steals next week's pay before you get it. It's a treadmill. Next week's check will be cut by the amount you took this week. If you stop the pay advances, your checks stay the same. Spending is the only thing you can control. The less you spend the more choosey you can be about work. If money is super tight, than any load is your load. You won't like them all but they all generate miles and money. If you've driven 2 years you have enough experience to go anywhere. People with less ability and brains than you are doing it every day. I grew up poor and making choices is how you get out of it. Dave Ramsey says "if you keep doing what you're doing, you will be where you are."

ahh college, the great scam, college degrees are like mercedes, most people that have them are broke. welcome to the follow the herd mentality, thats why your broke, because you follow the herd right to slaughter. and for the record most people i know or have met that are doing well that have degrees are only doing well because they filed for bankruptcy, not much different than being on welfare or being a beggar, just looks better, the great illusion.
