For detention, $120hr after the first hr. $60 to the company, $60 for the driver. What do y'all think?
Most likely won't happen, but wonder what you think.

Sounds good to me. Maybe $20 to driver and $100 to the company. Just because they have make enough to cover the truck and fuel. We should get detention pay and log it so if driver are sitting burning up that 70 hour clock. The driver and the company should still.make money. Then everyone can relax and they can take all day to unload if they want.
Instead of people wanting to save time on log books so they can keep driving because they give up their time for free. -
Mercy, that's a good one. Waiting is as much a part of trucking as driving. Places balk at any detention pay, much less $120 dollars worth. Company I was leased to gave 2 hours to load or unload. You'd be surprised how fast these guys work when it came up to the 2 hour limit. Good luck.
bzinger Thanks this. -
The chemical tanker industry collects $80-$100+ and hour for demurrage (detention). This is standard practice and shippers/receivers accept it as part of their costs of doing business. This is for the tractor, trailer and driver. How the companies share that with the driver or O/O is all over the place but I think most, if not all, even Schneider bulk, gives their drivers something.
Too bad the van/reefer guys can't do it.x1Heavy, buddyd157, GreenPete359 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Back when I started in the late 90s the company I worked for at the time charged $150/hour. I know this for a fact. They paid us $25/hour.

We had about roughly a 80 hour detention waiting to load.

On big projects the first 24 hours is usually free. After that its anywhere from $1100 to $2000 per day paid in 4 hour increments.
At 24 hours and 1 minute its $1100 to me. Every 4 hours after that its 1/6 of that amount.
