That sucks. Cost about $200 to title in Oklahoma.

Sure you can. Find freight that pays good enough to dead head for. I wish you the best. I personally wouldn't deal with Tyson and grocery warehouses for that rate but you might like it. FYI, I ran for $1.61 for all miles last year at Mercer pulling a van.

Good questions. I won't do forced dispatch either. Lol

Sadly many still work for that rate especially off load boards & cheap brokers.

As long as it pays for the fuel it's a good enough rate for some. It's all about getting miles not making a profit. It's a lifestyle not a job.

I always find it amusing when I ask a driver out here about his CPM. 90% of the time I get the deer in headlight look from them. Maybe 10% will be able to say what it is. Never fails though the 90% who are clueless almost always have the same response "I just know I make good money"

How can you someone say they make good money when they dont even know? If you dont know your cost per mile, how does one even know they are making money?

Most don't know if half these guys broke down these numbers they would only be at maybe .25.35 cents a mile. These drivers leased onto a place paying $1 a mile are not really making it. If they don't get that 3,000 mile week they are dead lol

Wish you well Pete, but I don't know how anyone could work forced dispatch after having the freedom that Mercer offers.

But one shoe size does not fit all. Perhaps it will be your niche.

It seems that you can't talk to people anymore unless you can tell them your cost per mile. I don't care how much you make or how much money you spend on whatever you want to but alot of people think that is the only conversation to have.
And it seems that other people seem to worry to much about your business. Like they are afraid your going to get a load up on them.

Even if they answer, it doesnt really mean anything. No way to know what they include unless youre looking at their calcs. I rarely give someone exact numbers unless i know the person and theres a reason for the info to be given. Otherwise i just throw out general numbers cause its none of their business.
