Hello everyone, I have a 2007 Tripac with 24,367 Hrs on it.... currently experiencing some problems with it. My power inverter reads 12.5 volts and when I attempt to turn the APU on, it goes to attempt to start and then the HMI controller throws the BAT code for low voltage from batteries..... what would cause this to suddenly start happening?

I think someone else posted something similar to this and I yhthi they checked all the wires to alrernator and ground and found a broke wire. Might be same issue.

I have a Thermo King trip PAC evolution. The engine light has been coming on the past few trips and then unit shuts down. I am a company driver and the mechanics at my shop say the tri PAC is over heating and shutting down . They can not seam to figure out why this is happening. Apparently the APU is not giving there computer a code . TheTapu sounds like it's really struggling under a heavy load for a brief time then it runs normal, struggles for 3-7 seconds then runs normal and continues to keep doing that . It had its annual service, oil change and filter change 3 weeks ago. When it bogs down my inverter shows 12.7 - 12.8 volts .When it's not being noted down it shows 13.1 to 13.3 volts . It ran higher volts last summer and I'm not sure what changed. The alternator is only a few months old.
It bogs down under no load no fan running nothing plugged into the inverter, no load what so ever . Engine just sounds like it's bogging down due to a load . Voltages are the same thought .running normal, no load it's 13.3 then when it Boggs down, still no load ( that I'm putting on the engine ) it goes to 12.7 - 12.8 .it just sounds like there a load .

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

When mine was doing that it was a wire going to the fan was pinched. And they washed the condenser on back of cab out. Hope this helps.

Try getting the unit to come on without being in AC mode. If you have decent voltage until it lugs down, it may be AC compressor related. If in just fan mode or standby mode you run a microwave or some other load on the electrical system until it kicks on and runs to recharge the batteries. If it will run long enough to do that, then it is AC related.

Ok another issue. I can turn my AC on when sitting and the Apu does fine cold and charges batteries. Issue is when the low voltage kicks on the Apu won't start up and charge batteries. It just started happening and it is driving me nuts.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

Need more info. Does it crank, but not start? Start and die? Where are you getting the voltage readings from? Any code?

No the apu starts and runs fine it just won't start by itself when my dash low voltage alarm kicks on like it used to.

I don't know if a broken wire or blown fuse.

Apu runs ac and charges batteries when I turn it on at display. Just not automatically when the batteries get low.
