They want me to block and brace a shipment of fork lifts?

    Why is it required that I block and brace the fork lifts and not the guys putting the fork lifts on my trailer?

    Wouldn't the guys loading the product have a better idea of bracing their product correctly? I would think they load the truck so they could help secure it too? Otherwise, to me, it's like having a non licensed driver back the truck into the dock. Sure he could do it, but wouldn't it be a better idea if I did the driving and they did the securing?

    So under that theory if you pull into a customer for a drop & hook the first thing you do is rip the seal off the trailer and give it a thorough inspection.:rolleyes:

    That's the Catch 22 of the industry.

    Driver can't break the seal.
    Driver not allowed on the dock.
    Driver is 100% responsible for any and everything that goes wrong.

    Everyone at that shipper will SWEAR they gave every opportunity to oversee the loading.

    My guess is they had to eat a claim at some point. By you doing if load shifts or any damage it’s on you 100%
