oK just been offered position at Rogers cartage, does any one have any good pros and cons on them? They are considered to be A chemical bulk haz mat division of tank star. Most of my buddies always tell me that tankers just not a consistent enough. What are some of your suggestions and thought on the out come tanker yankers?

Every time I try something else out I always end up back in a tank. Most tanker drivers would probably agree. The pay, benefits, consistency, and pride cannot be matched. This is just my opinion though. Tanker work is the only thing I’ll probably ever do. Pulling a box scares me.

Pulled a box for 6 yrs that got old real quick, yanking a tank is a different ballgame most of the time I’m picking up a preloaded trailer, customers always seem to need the product occasionally you might have to throw on the Gumby suit, you get paid for dang near everything you do related to the job depending on the company in summary no more boxes for me lol

The thing I thought about most after I went to tanks is why it took me so long to do it. Wish I had done it 20 years ago.

You would be hard pressed to find a guy who went hazmat tanker and ever thought about dry van again. Unless maybe buster brown called, with one of those gravy feeder gigs. That would be the day.

There's a lot of different types of tanker jobs. I do not know of any other job than hauling gasoline. Although I would say that 95% of tanker work beats out 95% of any other truck driving job. Every line of work there's always a job out there that's really bad. It's just in tanker work you'll find that fewer are in tankers. One fact that I do know is that if you stick with tankers there's an opportunity to make very good money along with good benefits plus looking forward to retirement.
